Aranui chooses Resco for ship and shore operations

Rescompany Systems Ltd are very excited to announce that Aranui has chosen Resco to implement Resco’s suite of shore side and ship side applications, taking advantage of Resco’s seamless integration between the ship and shore. Aranui will be implementing Resco’s advanced onboard system with Point of Sale, Inventory stock control & ordering, as well as Property Management System technology using a centralised database. Using Resco’s shoreside central system, Aranui will be creating and managing bookings, taking advantage of Resco’s cruise focused CRM as well as assisting in the management of the ships inventory and supply chain from the shoreside. Resco has a dedicated team to support its clients on a day to day basis and develop software that supports the evolving technology needs of the cruise and travel sector.

Rescompany Systems Ltd offers shore and ship software solutions that provide the same competitive tools to small and medium-sized operators that are accessible to large corporations while keeping systems affordable and resource-efficient. Whether implementing Rescompany’s complete software suite as a stand alone platform or integrating its individual modules seamlessly with third-party interfaces, Resco’s intuitive technology provides clients with an ever evolving 360 degree view of the customer – shore to ship and beyond.

Compagnie Polynesienne de Transport Maritime, also known as C.P.T.M, is a third-generation maritime company which operates the Aranui, a passenger/freighter vessel in French Polynesia. Founded in 1954 by the patriarch of the Wong family of Tahiti, first as Wing Man Hing and subsequently as C.P.T.M., their ships have been plying the waters of French Polynesia for over six decades. Originally, the company serviced the Tuamotu and Gambier Archipelagos, supplying and conducting trade between these islands and Tahiti and now they are also taking passengers to new destinations to Gambier and the Australes Islands within French Polynesia, the Pitcairn Islands and the Cook Islands in the South Pacific Waters.

In 1978 the commercial line to the Marquesas Islands was added to C.P.T.M’s shipping route, and in 1984, the Aranui I was converted to accommodate passengers, creating Aranui Cruises. At the time of its first sailing and for many years after, the Aranui was the only ship to take tourists to the Marquesas, putting these far-flung islands on the map and creating global interest in this little-known archipelago.

With a knowledgeable and expert Polynesian crew, many of whom have been with the company for over 30 years, this soft adventure and cultural experience truly represents the journey of a lifetime. The launch of the latest Aranui – Aranui 5 – in December 2015 has once again redefined cruising in French Polynesia.
