Sonja gained extensive experience across the hotel and tourism industry, holding several positions that shaped her expertise in operations and guest services. She discovered her passion for the cruise industry while working on river and ocean cruise ships for many years, where she became fascinated by the unique dynamics of cruise operations.

Afterward, she worked as an Implementation Specialist and in Sales for a hotel software company, further developing her skills in technology-driven guest solutions. Missing the cruise sector, she joined Rescompany in 2012, starting as an Implementation Specialist with onsite installations. Over the years, she progressed into sales, demonstrating her deep commitment to delivering integrated cruise solutions, before being appointed Director of Sales, a role she fulfills with great passion and dedication.

Chris Daly

Managing Director Technology

Chris Daly, Managing Director of Technology of cruisePAL, brings over 30 years of IT expertise to the table. Originally from Northern Virginia, he relocated to Miami in 2000, to pursue a new venture in software development. Chris Daly, co-founded OnboarD Software in 2000, where he took the role of Chief Technology Officer.

Today, Chris co-leads a global team of developers focused on creating innovative software solutions tailored to the cruise industry. His extensive experience and leadership have been instrumental in driving technological advancements within the sector.

Jimmy Lopez

Managing Director Operations

Before being appointed as cruisePAL’s Managing Director of Operations, Jimmy co-founded OnboarD Software in 2000, serving as the CEO. With primary responsibilities in sales, finance, business development, and operations, Jimmy plays a pivotal role in the company’s success and growth.

Jimmy began his professional journey after graduating college with a degree in finance. He embarked on his career as an auditor for the United States Senate in Washington DC while simultaneously pursuing an MBA degree from Catholic University.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jimmy is deeply involved in his community. He has held various leadership positions, including Treasurer, Vice President, and President, in non-profit organizations dedicated to youth development.

sankar ragavan

President & CEO

Sankar Ragavan, joined BSM in 2010, as Director, Information Technology, and was responsible for all information technology initiatives and software development projects in BSM. Due to the complexities of the maritime industry, in 2014 Sankar founded MariApps Marine Solutions, a digital solutions company tailored to the maritime industry. Before joining BSM, Sankar had senior IT positions in Jumeirah Hotels, Dubai, TV Guide, Sapient, IDP, General Motors, Commerce One, and Aerotech in USA.

In 2018, Sankar was appointed Chief Digital Officer of the Schulte Group and was nominated as member to the BSM Board. In 2024, Sankar was appointed as President and CEO of cruisePAL.

Sankar graduated with a Master’s degree in Management Information System from Eastern Michigan University and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), Philadelphia, USA.

STEFAN KRUELLMANN

Director, Business Development

Stefan Kruellmann is a maritime professional with extensive experience at sea and ashore. He started in the cruise industry as a Cadet, rising to Chief Officer over six years, then moved to shore-based operations, joining a leading cruise vessel manager’s team, connecting onboard realities with strategic decisions. As Director of Business Development, Stefan leads Crewing and Marine modules, driving global growth and innovation. His seafaring background informs his approach to digitalizing maritime processes, ensuring practical, efficient, crew-focused solutions.

Stefan holds a Bachelor’s in International Ship Management from City University of Applied Sciences, Bremen, a Master’s in International Maritime Management from Jade University, an unlimited Master Mariner license, and is a certified Agile Project Management Specialist (IHK).

Beyond cruisePAL, Stefan is Chairman of The Nautical Institute Germany and was named among Seatrade Cruise’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2025 for his maritime innovation and leadership.

Peter Winqvist

Managing Director Commercial

Peter is an experienced CEO with over 25 years in the information technology and services industry, specializing in hospitality, software, and cruise line sectors. Demonstrated expertise in operations including project management, change management, negotiation, budgeting, business planning, and providing strong leadership. Proven track record in launching and expanding businesses across APAC, the US, and Europe, with a focus on innovation and growth.

Peter Winqvist joined Rescompany Systems in 2004 as Product Implementation and Support Manager but quickly transitioned to the Managing Director position leading the Australian branch and then the entire company as Global Managing Director. In 2024, Peter was appointed cruisePAL, Managing Director Commercial

Peter holds degrees from Modul University Vienna (International Hotel and Business Management) and Bessemer College (Data Processing Technology).

Arun Janardhanan

Managing Director Software Development

Arun Janardhanan is a seasoned maritime software professional with over two decades of experience. His expertise encompasses product development, project management, process re-engineering, ERP systems development, change management, budgeting, pre-sales, and more. He has successfully led global ERP system implementations for various shipping clients.

Since joining MariApps in 2012 as Deputy Head of Development, he has been instrumental in driving the development of innovative ship management solutions. Currently, as cruisePAL’s Managing Director Software Development, he is responsible for the development of cruise digital solutions, focusing on reservation and property management domains. He is leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance efficiency and user experience.

Arun Janardhanan holds an MBA and a Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering.
