The Inventory module is tailored to improve cruise lines’ material flow. It is a single system that covers all areas and aspects important for inventory and purchasing management.

Rich functionality

cruisePAL’s Inventory module supports users with rich functionality. They can easily set up and manage Inventory departments and stores, purchasing VAT rates, articles, suppliers, payment and delivery terms, Purchase departments, tax groups, recipe engineering, bidding and purchasing processes, etc. The solution is flexible in many aspects. It allows for usage of multiple currencies; measurement units can be adapted to the cruise line’s needs.

cruisePAL’s Inventory module provides an intuitive interface for users to create, modify, and delete new roles according to the requirements and to assign new roles to individuals effortlessly. Multiple roles can be assigned to a single individual, modules can be enabled or disabled for a specific role.

Product features

Articles Management

cruisePAL’s Inventory module allows users to effectively manage the articles. Users can create and categorize groups of articles for convenience.

Every article’s profile has numerous fields for adding key information. Users can specify a custom declaration group per region, and when a ship arrives at the port, the system will provide all the necessary breakdowns for customs officials. Allergens, sustainability factors, and nutrients can also be listed. Additionally, for every article, users can check stock issues, stock on hand, stock takes, order requests, and much more.

Suppliers Management

The Inventory modules allows users to add suppliers to the system and categorize them. The solution stores key information about suppliers (e.g. preferred language, minimum order value, payment terms, delivery terms, purchase discounts, contacts, documents, etc.). Cruise lines can define master terms and conditions, mark which ones are valid for a selected supplier, and they will be included into purchase orders.

Enhanced Procurement Process ​

Cruise lines can modernize purchasing with cruisePAL’s Inventory module. Ships can submit Order Requests to shore teams, using configurable ordering templates by product type and/or region. The system also recommends quantities based on historical consumption, itinerary, and PAX data.

Order Requests are automatically converted into multiple purchase orders, sourced through competitive bids to secure the best value and reduce cycle time. Built-in approvals support the full workflow, and purchase orders can be exported or sent directly to suppliers from cruisePAL. Delivery documents are stored in the system, while invoices and credit notes can be recorded for end-to-end control.

Recipe Engineering

cruisePAL’s Inventory module allows for efficient Recipe engineering. Users can create recipe types to organize them based on dish types (e.g. appetizers, main courses, desserts) or dietary preferences (e.g. vegetarian, vegan). They can add general information, cooking steps for every recipe, specify ingredients and the system will automatically calculate the total cost price of the recipe. Specifying nutrients, allergens, sustainability factors, PLU, uploading images and documents, enabling recipe for one or more ships, adding notes is also possible.

Reports

A range of reports can be found in cruisePAL’s Inventory module, including Cost Analysis, Average Consumption Report, Top 100 Items on Board Consumption, Vendor Spend, Product Prices by Supplier, Expected Deliveries, Quantities Delivered, Stock Summary, Customs Declaration and many more.
