V-Ships will run the management on board MS Artania (currently operated by P&O Cruises under the name Artemis) and the vessel will be on full charter for the German tour operator Phoenix Reisen. The ship management company has decided for Resco SMS shipboard systems for this new venture.
The 1200 passenger ship will enter service for Phoenix Reisen end of May 2011.
Since 1973 Phoenix Reisen is providing exciting holiday experiences for their guests. Alongside open water cruises with MS Amadea, MS Albatros and MS Artania their portfolio covers the most popular holiday destinations around the Mediterranean, the land of the Pharaohs and cruises on rivers around the world.
Juergen Walterscheidt, IT project responsible for Phoenix Reisen, explains: “The Resco SMS is installed for years now on our other two chartered vessels MS Amadea and MS Albatros and we are glad V-Ships and Rescompany will implement the same easy to use and cost effective system also on the third vessel of our fleet.”

The Resco Ship Management System is now installed on close to 70 cruise ships of all sizes.
Resco SMS comes with an integrated point of sale and offers optional modules such as gangway security, excursion sales, cashbook, AVO (cabin maintenance tracking), inventory management, crew management and payroll. The inventory management system is linked to the POS to allow for accurate inventory/usage control along with a state of the art order forecasting tool. Resco POS utilizes industry standard touch screen technology and provides a true open platform where the preferred hardware can be chosen by the user.
